Sofia started off as a process of exploration, and in that place it remains. After participating in several projects (such as Scorpio or POU) she needed to do something by herself. Music is for Sofia some kind of channel that breaks the conceptual walls in which we remain trapped and which shake space and time. Within that strange dimension we can distinguish her lyrics, which combine the surreal with the simplicity in which feelings are expressed, and her sound, which evokes the minimal and synthwave of the 80s.
Her debut crystallizes a year of work, a year of searching to connect with those things that are both intimate and universal by language and music. Her tracks deal with heartbreak, anger and fatigue, afflictions that she tries to subvert or, perhaps, give more intensity, with a dance and naive touch. Sofia is convinced that music is self-contradictory, and that, in fact, that is one of the pillars of its authenticity. Music, says the artist, helps us to enjoy sadness.
