Sofia makes pop-synth — in that order, yes. The softness and lightness of pop always come first in her songs, carried by her expansive, almost plush vocal delivery. From a compositional standpoint, she often resembles a wild, electric organ player in a parish church hidden somewhere in the backstreets of a walled city — anachronistic yet unmistakably danceable. The truth is that Sofia sounds like Sofia. And when an artist truly sounds like themselves, classification becomes nearly impossible.
