Get ready for beauty. Listening to just a few seconds of the first physical EP by .bd. (written dot, b, d, dot) is like turning back time and lying on your back in the grass with your friends. This six-piece band, forged through countless hours on public transport, emerged from the fields that stretch between the south of the Madrid region and the plains of La Mancha. Since then, they have refined their early shoegaze into an irresistible form of pop — fresh, innocent, delicate and slightly melancholic.Their lyrics reference things far removed from urban life: olive trees, water pools, reeds, or frogs — images rooted in the landscape that shaped them.
When the band started, still underage, their declared influences were My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth. According to Marta, vocals and guitar, when post-rock came knocking, they saw it as a more horizontal genre — one in which all instruments and structures have a place, along with unusual lyrics, unconventional melodies, and where guitar riffs don’t dominate like in the old, restrictive form of straight-up rock. Since then, .bd. have wandered through the sounds of Slint, Black Midi, Black Country, New Road, and Squid, and have recorded — with production help from Fran Bassi (Baywaves) and Lucas Sierra (La Paloma) — the four tracks that make up their first physical EP, Economato Textil, released in September 2025 via Humo Internacional.
