“Empezamos a conocernos en el lenguaje de las cajas de ritmo y los sintetizadores, que domábamos a base de gritos y aullidos”. Así describen Ernesto Avelino y Roberto Lobo la intensa conexión mental y sensorial que, desde su Mieres (Asturias) natal, les ha impulsado a desarrollar una de las trayectorias sonoras más ferozmente personales e inimitables que ha dado la electrónica de este país. Una historia que arranca a mediados de los 80 con Hegemonía, pasa por Goodbye en los 90 y desemboca en 2006 en Fasenuova.

Cinema—lots of cinema; literature in abundance, from the Spanish classics to the diaries of Boris Chertok, which fuel Ernesto’s fascination with astronautics; and, of course, music—tons of music, without limits or excuses. The duo’s background is so vast that trying to pin down references for their sound becomes a futile exercise: one always ends up lost in the labyrinth.

From their first shared release with Angel Dust on the historic label Ozono Kids, to their latest magnum opus, the LP Aullidos Metálicos, Fasenuova have always upheld a core principle: their music must be entirely their own. Their main reference is their own work—the rules they themselves have created, far from any scene or tribe. This ethos shaped A La Quinta Hoguera (Discos Humeantes, 2011) and Salsa de Cuervo (Discos Humeantes, 2013), defines Aullidos Metálicos (Humo, 2016), and will continue to define everything this extraordinary creature produced.

An incendiary musical corpus forged among industrial ruins, attuned to the pulse of the underground in order to project itself into liberating dance. Dance as both the beginning and the end of all ideas, as a ceremonial, shamanic trance summoned by the noise of machines, voices, and bodies dissolved in ecstasy.

Fasenuova jamás tuvieron vocación de grupo underground, es una circunstancia que les viene dada. Por raro que parezca siempre han estado convencidos de que su música podría llegar a públicos mayoritarios y nunca han sentido pudor por ello. Sus temas han tenido vocación de hits desde un inicio, independientemente de la aceptación y difusión que hayan alcanzado.
