MAUSOLEO
Mausoleo caught everyone off guard with the release of their debut Absolución (2020), an EP that quickly became an instant classic and coined the unexpected label “devotional punk.” Since then, their incendiary riffs and raw, exposed sensitivity have spread like wildfire—from word of mouth to WhatsApp chats—following the trail of the van that has taken them across countless shows throughout Spain: an endless tour that confirms they belong to that lineage of artists for whom music sits very high on the list of priorities.
Each note from Mausoleo carries their openly declared influences, elevates them, and pushes them one step further into a deeply personal and unexplored territory. Refugio Transitorio intensified even further the energy of the Valencian trio—which was already abundant—while also increasing the compositional complexity of their songs and enriching them with arrangements. Alongside electronic and atmospheric percussion elements, their second release brought greater prominence to wide-open, emotionally charged choirs, forming harmonies that feel like some of the most timeless in rock history.
Immersed in a desperate inward gaze through their relationships with others, constantly questioning their own feelings and actions on an ethical level, Mausoleo’s lyrics continue to revolve around love, personal path, and the fleeting nature of all things. Self-criticism, guilt, and powerlessness place Mausoleo at the summit of emotional songwriting, turning vulnerability and pop into their defining identity.
